Who We Are

The Michiana Amateur Computer Society is a computer club that offers education, information and help for members (and guests) with IBM and IBM Compatible computers. Club meetings take place on the third Tuesday of each month (except January and July) at 7:00 PM at a place to be announced.

Club meetings consist of committee reports, business meeting, question & answer period, and a main program on a computer related topic. Meeting program topics are advertised by radio and newspaper. A newsletter, MACSFacts, is published monthly before the meeting.

MACS operates under a Constitution and By-Laws. The Officers of the Club are elected annually by the membership.

What We Do

Educational programs, offered on various computer hardware or software related topics, are offered in spring and fall sessions. These sessions are usually on 6 consecutive Mondays, at a place to be announced. These educational programs are FREE to Club members. Attendance/participation in the educational sessions requires Club membership.

Libraries of files are maintained for download by MACS members ONLY from the MACS FTP site. The First Collection of files are mostly old MS-DOS programs from the MACS early years and will be of limited use on today's computers and are listed for historical interest. The files in the Second Collection are current versions, less than 30 days old, which were presented in MACS Meeting programs and continue to be of use and interest.
